Deep Tissue Barefoot Massage: Ashiatsu
Comfortable and effective deep tissue massage that is combined with gravity and leverage to work deeply in tight areas. Barefoot massage is less pokey and aggressive than traditional hands-on deep tissue, due to the broader nature of the foot. If you love deep tissue, then this is the massage for you. (Barefoot Massage is not going be ideal for everyone. Some conditions are contraindicated (medically unsafe). You must complete an intake form before your first appointment. Please fill this out honestly and completely. This allows your therapist to make any modifications necessary and determine if Barefoot is a safe option for you or to refer you to hands on therapist.)
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Vodder Method
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle technique that aids in swelling reduction and promotes overall wellbeing. MLD is indicated for swelling, autoimmune issues, cancer, post-surgery, lymphedema and more. Unlike massage where muscle tissue is manipulated, the skin is gently manipulated to stimulate the lymphatic system. This helps move lymphatic fluid through the body back to the lymph nodes. MLD helps with pain relief, swelling reduction, and increased range of motion.
Intra Oral Massage for TMJ Pain Relief
A gentle approach to jaw pain and dysfunction for those suffering from TMJ. A gloved therapist gently works the muscles on the inside of the mouth that are used for chewing. When finished inside the mouth the muscles of the face and front of neck are addressed. A combination of precision neuromuscular, myofascial and trigger point therapies are used. Temporomandibular joint pain is a complex disorder and can benefit from soft tissue manipulation. New clients must be assessed first. First session runs approximately 60 Minutes.
Cupping
Cupping therapy is an ancient modality that dates back to the Egyptians. Cupping is considered a negative pressure therapy. Instead of a regular massage where compression is used, cupping gently or intensely pulls the tissues apart. It can be used for sports injuries, orthopedic injuries, general pain relief and so much more.

I recently visited Midwest Massage Therapy, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The therapist was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. She took the time to understand my specific needs and tailored the massage accordingly. I left feeling rejuvenated, with my tension and stress significantly reduced. Whether you’re looking for relief from muscle pain or just a relaxing escape, Midwest Massage Therapy is the perfect place. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone in need of some self-care!

This was my second Ashiatsu massage with Kate. It’s now my favorite form of deep tissue body work! I always leave feeling light on my feet and all my joints feel much more free. Kate is a very pleasant person that keeps good casual conversation if you like, or a comfortable silence if you prefer. Highly recommended
